The name Camden was connected with ships and voyages in several ways. Lord Camden was a member of syndicates that supported trade with India and China – there were four East Indiamen with the name Camden from 1760 to 1840.
There were also smaller ships – a Camden in the ‘triangular’ Atlantic trade, a convict transporting ship and one that took missionaries to the Pacific Ocean. This piece, Camden at sea, was written for Camden History Society Newsletter.
